The son of MAGA firebrand and 38-year-old grandmother, Lauren Boebert, has been charged with misdemeanor child abuse charges, the latest in a series of encounters with law enforcement.
Tyler Boebert, 20, is the eldest of the top MAGA representative’s four sons. He just received a citation for “criminal negligence where no death or injury occurred” for an incident involving Boebert's grandson on July 11. Tyler became a father in June 2023, but Boebert's comments don't indicate whether Tyler's child was the grandchild in question.
In 2024, Tyler was charged with 22 counts tied to vehicle break-ins and property theft, including multiple felonies. He later entered a guilty plea to attempted identity theft as part of a plea deal, with other charges dropped. He is currently on probation for that case.
Last February, police charged Tyler with more than a dozen felony charges relating to a series of thefts and the use of credit cards stolen from a number of local gas stations. Your mom is a sitting congressmember and a possible Russian asset - why are you doing credit card skimming scams????
The incident is being described as “a miscommunication on monitoring my young grandson that recently led to him getting out of our house,” by Boebert.
In September 2022, Tyler received a ticket for careless driving after flipping his dad’s SUV into a local creek bed, with the vehicle’s passenger suffering severe lacerations to their hand and multiple concussions.
That case was eventually downgraded to a “defective vehicle for headlights” citation after Tyler entered into a plea deal with prosecutors in Garfield County, where the family lives.
He pleaded guilty and received a two-year deferred judgment, which would see his record cleared if he makes it through a 24-month probation term without reoffending.
Currently, it’s unclear whether this month’s citation will affect that deal.
