President Biden traveled to an historic Black church in South Carolina to deliver another major speech in which he reiterated a central theme of his campaign: his opponent, Donald Trump, is a “loser.”

Biden spoke for approximately 30 minutes at Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church, one of the oldest in the nation and the site of a 2015 mass shooting in which a white supremacist murdered nine Black members of its congregation.

The speech was replete with viral moments. The president used empathetic language throughout his remarks, referencing the audience’s will and votes and actions.

“They don’t have respect for the 81 million people who voted the other way, voted for my candidacy,” he said, referring to those who voted for him in the 2020 election. “In their world, these Americans—including you—don’t count.”

After declaring that “that’s not America,” Biden said that “losers are taught to concede when they lose” in the United States.

“And he’s a loser,” the president concluded, referring to Trump.

Another notable moment was when Biden was interrupted by pro-Palestinian protestors, who demanded that the president call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The president held up his hands, assuring supporters that the protestors were permitted to interrupt—his typical reaction to such interruptions.

The protestors were eventually shouted down by a louder chant of “four more years” from most of the audience, but Biden confirmed that he’s been “quietly working with the Israeli government to reduce and significantly get out of Gaza. I’m using all that I can to do it.”
