Conservatives Suggest Throwing Biden off Red State Ballots in Revenge

Conservatives and elected Republicans are suggesting that red states move to kick President Biden off their ballots in retaliation for the Colorado Supreme Court ruling Donald Trump is an insurrectionist and therefore disqualified from running in that state.
It is a completely unsurprising development: those supporting a political party infamous for its pettiness and venality are openly teasing a potential spree of tit-for-tat ballot removals for the nation’s top two political candidates for president.
On Laura Ingraham’s program, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick of Texas—the man who once suggested at the height of the Covid pandemic that the nation reject social distancing and quarantine protocols even at the expense of the elderly’s safety—suggested that the Lonestar State might just move to keep the President off the ballot because of perceived inaction at the southern border.
On Sean Hannity’s program, guest host (and former Trump advisor) Kellyanne Conway asked her guest, Republican Governor Kristi Noem, whether she “would be able to bar Biden from the ballot in your state of South Dakota” by unfreezing assets for humanitarian aid and the surge of illegal southern border crossings.
To her credit, Noem responded “I don’t believe so.”
In an earlier program, an agitated Harris Faulkner turned to the camera and warned other blue states which may move to remove Trump from the ballot: “It could be your guy too!”
For what it’s worth, as with Republicans, Democratic candidates who had previously swore a Constitutional oath and subsequently engaged in insurrection should indeed be disqualified from holding public office.
