Mediaite obtained audio of a conversation in which Roger Stone, a corrupt political operative and close ally of Donald Trump, discussed murdering Democratic Congressmen Jerry Nadler and Eric Swalwell.

The conversation took place weeks before the 2020 presidential election in a Florida restaurant. Stone’s interlocutor was his bodyguard, Sal Greco, an officer with the New York Police Department by day.

Nadler and Swalwell, both members of the House Judiciary Committee, had been long despised by Stone.

“Stone had been at war with Nadler and Swalwell for years,” a source familiar with the conversation told Mediaite. “He just hates them.”

By the time of the threatening conversation between Stone and Greco, Nadler—the Judiciary Committee’s chairman—had publicly announced that the committee would investigate Donald Trump’s decision to pardon Stone after he’d been convicted of federal crimes in the aftermath of Special Counsel Robert Meuller’s probe into ties between Russia and the Trump campaign.

“It’s time to do it,” Stone told Greco. “Let’s go find Swalwell. It’s time to do it. Then we’ll see how brave the rest of them are. It’s time to do it. It’s either Nadler or Swalwell has to die before the election. They need to get the message. Let’s go find Swalwell and get this over with. I’m just not putting up with this shit anymore.”

Mediaite’s source told them they believed Stone’s remarks were genuine. “It was definitely concerning that [Stone] was constantly planning violence with an NYPD officer and other militia groups,” the source said.
