Fox News host Jeanine Pirro was fact checked by liberal co-host Jessica Tarlov when she falsely suggested that there weren’t attacks on U.S. troops during Donald Trump’s presidency.

The two frenemies were debating recent developments in the Middle East.

Over the weekend, an Iranian-linked militia launched a drone strike against a U.S. base in northeastern Syria, which killed three U.S. service people and wounded dozens of others.

President Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin publicly vowed to respond.

Rather than unite behind the sitting president, as conservatives typically demand the country do when a nation suffers an attack under a Republican president, Pirro and others instead attack Biden and falsely suggest such attacks could and would never have happened if Trump were in power.

“But the bottom line is when Trump killed Soleimani, that was the end of it,” Pirro said, clapping her hands, referring to the Trump-authorized assassination of a top Iranian general in retaliation for attacks against U.S. interests. “They didn’t respond, they knew Trump was serious—”

“They did,” Tarlov interrupted. “There were two service members who were hit by a missile attack and died after Soleimani—”

“There was a missile attack, but—but—” Pirro stammered in response.

Contrary to Republican claims, there were indeed attacks on U.S. interests and personnel under Donald Trump, and at least 65 service people died under his administration as a result of active hostility.
