Veteran Fox News anchor John Roberts called out House Republicans for their constant failures in the impeachment inquiry against President Biden, despite having previously shown sympathy for the effort.

Roberts’ blunt comments came during a panel with co-host Jacqui Heinrich and Fox News legal editor Kerri Urbahn.

“But here’s the thing,” he began. “So they’ve got a lot of receipts with Hunter Biden and they’ve got a bunch of receipts with Jim Biden as well, but so far, there’s nothing to connect all of that to the president in any kind of way that looks like it’s illegal or even potentially unethical. How much longer can this probe go on before the Republicans have to either put up or move on?”

Urbahn conceded the question’s fairness but attempted to prop up the Republican proposition, appealing to claims of nepotism surrounding Hunter Biden, the president’s son, and James Biden, the president’s brother. Urbahn argued that neither of them had the experience to justify their lucrative business arrangements.

Still, that did not deter an unconvinced Roberts or Heinrich, who reiterated that Republicans must (and have yet to) establish a direct link between the alleged misdeeds of the other Bidens and the president—which Urbahn also conceded.

This blunt assessment stands in contrast to previous signals from Roberts, who sparred with liberal Fox commentator Jessica Tarlov in defense of the Republicans within the past 48 hours.
