The Fox propaganda network is so desperate to concoct fake scandals against President Biden that one correspondent tried to drum up controversy by quietly citing himself asking the President an unremarkable question.
Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson told Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream that the 81-year-old Biden “continues to face questions about his age, even here in Nantucket”—where the President was shopping during the Thanksgiving weekend.
A clip then played of an unnamed, unseen reporter shouting a question to the President as he departed a store: “Mr. President, are you too old to be running for president?”
“That’s stupid,” Biden replied bluntly.
Tomlinson shared the same clip on X (formerly known as Twitter), providing the following description: “While shopping in Nantucket, President Biden was asked by a reporter if he is too old to run for re-election. ‘That’s stupid,’ he replied.”
What Tomlinson neglected to mention to viewers in both instances is that he is the one shouting the question to Biden in the first place.
Tomlinson’s selective omission inspired sarcastic replies from White House officials:
Principal Deputy Press Secretary Olivia Johnson responded with a simple “lol,” whereas Andrew Bates rhetorically asked Tomlinson, “@LucasFoxNews, are you able to speculate on whose voice that is shouting? It sounds familiar to me but I'm having difficulty placing it.”
This incident underscores the many creative ways Fox News will try to generate artificial controversy in the absence of legitimate ones.
