Liz Cheney, Trump-cultist-turned-critic and former Republican Congresswoman, sparred with Fox News host Bret Baier about the relative danger to the United States by Trump compared to President Biden.

Baier, who was once seen as a “straight/hard news anchor” alongside the likes of Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace—both of whom have since left the network—attempted to make the case that the extrajudicial, anti-Constitutional threat in American politics is not from Trump, but from Biden

He cited a Wall St. Journal op-ed which argued that Biden was more dictatorial due to, among other things, his continued cancellation of student loans and attempt to encourage employee vaccination requirements in the private sector via OSHA.

Cheney rejected that argument, explaining that the points raised were examples of legitimate policy with which she staunchly disagrees—but are far less troublesome than Trump’s efforts to unlawfully remain in power after the 2020 election, which is unlike anything that can be attributed to Biden.

The exchange became briefly heated when each interrupted the other repeatedly.

“Are you gonna let me finish?” Cheney snapped at one point.

Cheney also cited Baier’s own words and work against him, specifically a recently-written book about President George Washington.

“The last chapter of your book is called ‘The Gift of a Peaceful Transition of Power.’ That is what we are talking about,” she said.

“This is not about me,” Baier replied.

“Every single president, Republican and Democrat, since George Washington, has ensured the peaceful transition of power,” Cheney concluded. “Donald Trump tried to seize power.”
