Okay, Time to Fact Check Trump's Speech

Trump's address was, as expected, filled with lies and untruths - let's debunk his most obviously fake claims.
LIE: The US spent $8 million dollars making mice transgender.
Trump, whose reading comprehension is clearly abysmal, should know that the mice were "transgenic" - meaning they had human DNA spliced into them. This is done so researchers can more accurately learn how diseases, medicines, and treatments will affect the human body.
LIE: Trump shared the debunked lie that 3.9 million people listed between the ages of 130 to 139 and 3.5 million people listed between the ages 140 to 149 are receiving Social Security payments because they haven’t been recorded as deceased.
That doesn’t mean people listed as being 150, 200, or 300 are actually getting money. Social Security already has a system in place to automatically cut off people who are listed as being 115 or older. Additionally, the reason these people are still listed in the data base is due to the government's use of an old coding language called COBOL - which Musk's band of DOGE goons aren't familiar with and therefore reported these individuals as receiving payments.
LIE: Trump claimed that the United States has sent more aid to Ukraine than Europe.
Trump suggested the U.S. has pitched in $350 billion to Ukraine’s efforts to fend off an unprovoked Russian invasion, and Europe just $100 billion. However, the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, a think tank that tracks support for Ukraine, found that is not true.
According to the data, the U.S. has committed roughly $126 billion and allocated $121 billion in support of Ukraine, far less than the $350 billion figure Trump claimed. Meanwhile, Europe has committed $263 billion in support and allocated $140 million, both more than the U.S. and well above the $100 billion figure Trump claimed.
LIE: Trump lied about inflation and immigration under President Biden” while claiming that he terminated a “Green new scam”.
This is a lie because the “Green New Deal” was a Congressional resolution that never passed. The environmental law that President Biden DID pass has NOT been affected.
LIE: Foreign countries pay the tariffs.
Do I even have to explain this one?
LIE: Trump claims that illegal border crossings last month were "by far the lowest ever recorded ever."
If MAGA wants to be pedantic we should too - U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents had about 30,000 encounters with migrants attempting to cross the U.S. borders illegally in January, the agency reported. In 1935, there were only 11,000 migrant arrests nationwide for the full year.
LIE: Trump claims that almost all migrants coming to America under Biden were violent offenders.
The Biden administration allowed more than 5.8 million immigrants into the U.S. They were temporarily allowed into the country through multiple parole and sponsorship programs. Those participating were vetted before being allowed into the country.
LIE: "Entire towns like Aurora, Colorado, and Springfield, Ohio buckled under the weight of the migrant occupation and corruption like nobody has ever seen before.
Increased immigration has benefited small towns by helping grow the labor force in recent years. It has allowed employers to keep adding jobs without raising prices. Foreign-born workers do not appear to be displacing the native-born workforce. The share of working-age men who were in the workforce in January was 89.4% — higher than all but one month during the first Trump administration.
LIE: We have developed in great detail what we are calling the gold card, which goes on sale very, very soon. For $5 million it will allow the most successful job-creating people from all over the world to buy a path to U.S. citizenship.
Trump has only announced plans to create a "gold card," which he said will allow "very high-level people" to apply to become a lawful permanent resident. His administration has pitched this as a replacement to the current EB-5 immigrant investor visa. However, the office of the president cannot on its own create a new visa. That power lies with Congress.
So far, a formal proposal has not been issued by the Trump administration, so it is unclear how he might modify the existing visa or lobby Congress to create a new one.
LIE: Joe Biden especially let the price of eggs get out of control – the egg prices out of control — and we are working hard to get it back down.
Avian flu is currently wreaking havoc on egg prices. The US is looking into importing eggs soon.
LIE: Trump claims to have signed an executive order banning public schools from indoctrinating our children with transgender ideology.
The federal government, including the U.S. Department of Education, has little control over what is taught in local schools. The Every Student Succeeds Act, passed by Congress in 2015, expressly forbids federal interference in things like curriculum and teaching materials.
This only scratches the surface of the lies told by Donald Trump during his 99-minute speech.
