Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace was interviewed by Fox anchor Maria Bartiromo in a weak attempt to resurrect the dying impeachment effort against President Biden.
Mace, a Congresswoman from South Carolina who recently endorsed Donald Trump for the presidency, attempted to breathe life into a story House Republicans haven’t spent much time on since the year began.
Despite a sympathetic audience and a collaborative interview, Mace didn’t have much success.
“So, you say [impeachment witness Rob Walker] is lying,” Bartiromo asked. “Do you have any evidence?”
This, per usual, is the question that kills most Republican interviews. After a long pause, Mace replied.
“Well, what I’m saying is, everyone that’s denied Joe Biden’s involvement is absolutely lying because we know Joe Biden has taken meetings, had dinners, been on phone calls. There’s no way in anyone’s right mind, who’s logical or reasonable, that Joe Biden was absolutely not involved.”
Walker, a close friend of Hunter Biden and one of the latest House Republican witnesses, stated emphatically in his written opening statement that President Biden played no role in the business ventures between Walker and Hunter.
He also reiterated that Hunter was emphatic that there had to be boundaries between their business activity and his father.
Later on in the interview, Bartiromo referred to the alleged conspiracy between President Biden and his son as “the biggest scandal anybody has ever seen in terms of political scandal” and Mace declared that Biden “will go down as the most corrupt and most weak president in U.S. history.”
Notably, but predictably, she never cited evidence of an impeachable offense.
