If Barack Obama or Joe Biden tried hawking Subarus to the American people on the front lawn of the white house, because the head of Subaru gave them $250 million dollars, republicans would have had them drawn and quartered with tose very cars.

But when America's sleaziest salesman and Elon Musk bring a bunch of exploding electric cars to the West lawn to make a billionaire man baby feel better? That's fine I guess.

Donald Trump has finally come through on a promise - no, not a lower cost of living for Americans, but buying a Tesla from his donor daddy Elon Musk (using taxpayer dollars I presume.)

Donald Trump bought a Tesla Model S Tuesday as part of a stunt he admitted was to keep Tesla's plummeting stocks from continuing its freefall.

The president was slammed by critics for unabashedly putting on a “Tesla ad” at the White House that some likened to outright corruption because of his cozy relationship with its CEO, Elon Musk.

Comparisons to a Tesla “commercial” were driven in part by photographers capturing Trump holding a note card with pricing details for different models, including monthly financing that he—with a net worth of $4.6 billion, per Forbes—would never need. The ad also contained a huge lie that Elon is constantly pushing - Full Self Driving.

Trump, who has appeared in big rigs and dump trucks, did not appear concerned about the optics of open corruption at the White House. He hyped up his shiny, red Tesla, which he says he is not allowed to drive personally, and then marveled at its interior.

“Wow,” Trump said as he hopped in the driver’s seat. “That’s beautiful.”

Because of ethical restraints, it is extremely rare for a senior government official, let alone a sitting president, to endorse a consumer product so explicitly. In 2017, Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway told Americans to buy from Ivanka Trump’s clothing line and was hit with a warning from a government ethics office and promised never to do it again.

When asked outright if he hopes his purchase will boost Tesla’s sales and stock price, the president said, “Well, I hope it does.”

Trump has also stated that he plans to declare that vandalizing Tesla products or buildings will be charged as domestic terrorism - unlike storming the Capitol.

This is truly the dumbest timeline possible.
