Tom Homan, who looks like a thumb who recently gained sentience, is mostly known for his racist comments about immigrants, begging the DOJ to investigate AOC, and crying about how hard it is to deport people who don't volunteer themselves.
On Monday, he declared that immigrants living legally in the U.S. can “absolutely” be kicked out of the country—even if they have green cards and have committed no crimes.
The comment comes hours after Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that legal residents could get their green cards and visas revoked. The announcement was made in relation to international students who protested for Palestinians in Gaza, and have since been arrested.
The arrest was met with immediate backlash from immigration groups, who say it is a violation of the First Amendment, which protects the freedom of speech and assembly. The attorney for one of the arrested students, Amy Greer, argues that the arrest represents the “government’s open repression of student activism and political speech.”
“The U.S. government has made clear that they will use immigration enforcement as a tool to suppress that speech,” she said.
