Trump is Killing Fair Elections

Musk and his goons at DOGE are destroying essential components of the election security network. As a result of this butchering, election offices nationwide are signaling that they may not be able to safeguard themselves against potential future threats.

Last year's election was plagued with outside interference. Ballot boxes were burned. Elon Musk made Twitter a permanent banner for voting for Trump. One city had to shut lines down after threats of a possible shooting. Bomb threats were made in several key states and districts.

These acts were part of a larger wave of threats and cyberattacks that occurred last November, aimed at disrupting the presidential election. These incidents were fueled by both partisan extremists and foreign state actors from countries like Russia.

Voting at the community center was only delayed by ten minutes because of effective prior preparations and the prompt response from a network of federal, state, and local election, cybersecurity, and law enforcement officials. These groups all shared information and coordinated efforts to secure the election.

But with DOGE's breaking of these key networks, future elections will not have the same level of security. In early February, Musk unceremoniously fired 130 employees at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The fired officials included 10 regional security specialists who collaborated with local and state election officials. The Trump administration is also moving forward with plans to remove civil service protections from 80 percent of the remaining CISA staff.

Pam Bondi has disbanded an important FBI task force responsible for investigating foreign attempts to influence elections, and crippled another FBI task force that focused on threats to election workers and polling locations.

This was only possible because Trump appointed key positions to officials who proliferate his false claims of widespread voting fraud, including Bondi, Noem, and FBI Director Kash Patel.

Trump has also fired the head of the National Security Agency and the US Cyber Command, Gen. Timothy Haugh, who was involved in countering Russian interference in past elections.

Trump has also signed a devastating executive order that will disenfranchise millions of voters if Congress and the judiciary continue to stand by and be compliant.
