Trump Unleashes On Vivek at Last

At long last, Donald Trump has unleashed his ire on the closest thing to a proxy he has among the second-string Republican candidates: Vivek Ramaswamy.
In a scathing post on Truth Social, Trump excoriated Ramaswamy, saying “Vivek started his campaign as a great supporter”—citing Ramaswamy’s obsequious praise of Trump throughout the 2024 campaign—“unfortunately, now all he does is disguise his support in the form of deceitful campaign tricks.”
“Very sly, but a vote for Vivek is a vote for the ‘other side’—don’t get duped by this,” Trump continued. “Vote for ‘Trump,’ don’t waste your vote. Vivek is not MAGA.”
The sudden-but-not-entirely-unexpected turn by Trump against Ramaswamy appears to be a post on the younger candidate’s X account.
“A group of young men in Iowa came out in the blizzard,” Vivek said. “They sent a clear message.”
The post referred to an attached picture in which Ramaswamy is surrounded by young men wearing T-shirts which say “Save Trump, Vote Vivek.”
Chris LaCivita, one of Trump’s most prominent campaign advisors, replied harshly to Ramaswamy’s picture.
“Here is a great picture of this campaigns [sic] number one FRAUD,” LaCivita snarled. “Trump doesn’t need saving. If you support [Trump] you sure as hell dont [sic] vote for this FAKE.”
Ramaswamy is now merely the latest in a long line of Republicans who have become targeted by the former president for perceived insufficient loyalty.
